Let’s get ready for Christmas with these 3 French movies that happen during the Christmas period! Merry Christmas!

ENGLISH TRANSCRIPT

Hello and welcome to my channel French Possum, a channel on which I talk about the French culture, with videos in French subtitled in English.

Last year, one of my videos was about how to organize a Christmas like in France. This year, I will tell you about 3 French films that take place during the Christmas period.

Before continuing, a little reminder: you will find the transcription in French and English of this video on my site, frenchpossum.com

The first film I will talk about is a comedy called “Santa Claus is a Stinker”. It is a very funny film with stereotypical characters. The film is about a burlesque Christmas evening where, at the telephone hotline of “SOS for the Lonely and Depressed”, volunteers are disturbed by the arrival of marginal and a little wacky characters, causing catastrophic situations. It is a cult film in France, and I recommend it if you want to discover French humor.

A second French film to see is the drama “Merry Christmas” which is about an episode of truce during the First World War, between the Scottish, French and German troops. The film benefits from a 5-star casting, with popular actors like Diane Krüger for example. The film is inspired by real events and has been nominated for many awards.

Finally, a third French film that happens at Christmas is called “A Christmas Tale” and it’s about the hopes and disputes within a French upper-class family gathered for Christmas Eve. It is a film that mixes styles, between drama and comedy, and it is worth watching it if you want to see some of the best French actors, including the beautiful Catherine Deneuve.

Thank you very much for watching this video, I hope you liked it. If you liked it, please do not forget to share and subscribe. I wish you a very merry Christmas and see you next year for more videos about the French culture. See you soon, bye bye!

FRENCH TRANSCRIPT

A bientôt, bye bye !

A bientôt, bye bye.
